Pioneer Day at HES

Wednesday, September 14, was Pioneer Day at HES.  On this day, students get to participate in several activities that pertain to western living.  To start the day off, all the students gathered in the auditorium to hear a concert by Jay Hollis.  Activities that went on throughout the day included, a hayride around the block (favorite by many kids, including Cameron), dummy calf roping, chuck wagon cooking, horsemanship, making real butter by simply shaking a glass jar, and some other activities.  On this day, the kids enjoy wearing their western clothes, boots, hats, and belts.  It's a fun day by all and starts off the annual Clay County Pioneer Reunion!!!

Waiting patiently for the hayride!

Cam's class on the hayride!

The greatest thing about working at the school is I get to be there for all of the class parties/fun days!  Lucky me got to do the hayride with Cameron's class...it was actually really fun.
