Every year, the 3rd weekend in September, Henrietta hosts the annual Clay County Pioneer Reunion. If you live in Clay County, this is a holiday!!! School lets out at noon on Thursday and the fun begins with a horse parade that afternoon. Every night there is a rodeo with a band/dance afterwards. Friday and Saturday morning there is a float parade on the courthouse square in Henrietta...what a treat to see the gorgeous floats! This year, I was actually in the parade with the Jr. Delphians...our theme was "Yokohama Mama's" and we had to dress up in costumes from Japan. Cameron and Jaylee were also in the parade with me and had a blast...I guess they were miniature "Yokohama Mama's!" Anyways, this Pioneer Reunion, we made the horse parade, the 2 float parades, the pep rally on the square, the turtle races, and all 3 rodeos. However, we had a record breaking night on Saturday...this particular night a huge thunderstorm decided to roll into town about the time the rodeo was starting. The rodeo/dance was cancelled due to loss of electricity to the entire town of Henrietta for over 12 hours...yikes!!! Below are several pics taken over the weekend. Great memories made with family and friends.
Cameron ready to go to the rodeo on Thursday...notice the headband on Monster. :-)
